Ostrich fern fiddleheads: one across the bridge and along the road.

First Louisiana waterthrush of the year. More peepers have unthawed. Online friends reporting hermit thrushes but they don’t tend to visit our woods except rarely.

First thunderstorm of the year. Brief, not enough rain.
I imagine that trillium, like acorns, like squirrels, is more abundant some years than others. This year it appears to be abundant.
