Yesterday I finally replaced the batteries in the trail cam, which I had pointed directly at the base of the bird feeder, thinking that a possum or raccoon might wander over some late hour for the fallen seed, along with the cracked corn. There were 38 new files on the card this morning (19 photos, 19 videos) but every single one was a jumping mouse. If it wasn’t still so icy and a pain to go and check, I would strap the camera to a tree down on the woods road right-of-way, where last fall we captured footage of gray fox, possum, and porcupine. The warm weather coming tomorrow might help with that. A flock of turkeys came through about 45 minutes ago.
