Birds #5 (2024)

An indigo bunting came to the feeder briefly today, but long enough for the camera to take a picture. Other notables at home: a wood thrush and veery singing in the rain last night, today northern parulas, Blackburnian warbler, scarlet tanager, chipping sparrow, the rose-breasted grosbeaks, American redstart, blue-headed and red-eyed vireos, common yellowthroat, and black-throated green and blue warblers, ovenbird, chestnut-sided warbler, and more. Doesn’t seem to be as much black-throated blue activity as in recent years, but maybe they will pick up with their singing. Have also heard tree swallows at home this spring, and chimney swifts in town.
